BIZBILL

Privacy Policy

BIZBILL, published by Prodigy Digital Labs (“we”, “us”). Last updated 12 October 2026.

BIZBILL is a job-costing and estimating app for contractors. It has no accounts, no passwords and no sign-in. We do not sell your data, we do not advertise in the app, and we use no third-party analytics or tracking services. The app does send a few anonymous usage counts to our own server, which you can turn off in Settings. Our Terms of Use also apply to your use of BIZBILL.

What stays on your phone

Your business records — customers, jobs, estimates, change orders, invoices, payments, expenses, appointments and settings — are stored in a database on your device. Nothing in it is uploaded unless you ask for it: by sending a quote link, or by turning on cloud backup. Both are described below, and both are off until you use them. We never read any of it — a cloud backup is sealed on your phone before it is sent, and we hold no key to it.

Because of that, the app is only as safe as the phone. Uninstalling BIZBILL deletes the database with it — and, if cloud backup is off, deletes your only copy. Use Settings → Backup to write a copy you keep yourself; that file goes wherever you send it, and never to us.

Photos. You can attach one photo to an estimate, taken with the camera or chosen from your photos; the app asks for camera or photo access only when you do. The photo is resized and kept in the app's database on your phone, printed on that estimate's PDF, and included in your backups, which are locked as described below. It is never sent to your customer's quote link.

Estimates, change orders and invoices are turned into PDFs on the device. Where you then send one — email, messaging, cloud storage — is your choice, and that app's privacy policy governs it from there.

Android's own backup. On Android phones, the operating system may back up an app's data, BIZBILL's records included, to your Google account, and restore it when you install the app on a new phone. That is a feature of Android and of your Google account settings, not something BIZBILL sends or controls, and Google's privacy policy governs it. You can turn it off in your phone's own settings. Do not rely on it as your backup: use cloud backup or a backup file.

What leaves your phone, and only when you send it

If you send an estimate as a link for your customer to answer online, that estimate is uploaded to our server so the customer can open it. It contains what is printed on the estimate: your business name and details, your customer's name, address and phone number as you entered them, the job name, the line items, and the totals.

When your customer accepts or declines, we store their answer and, for an acceptance, the name they typed — that is the record of who agreed.

The link itself is the only key: it is an unguessable address, and anyone holding it can view that one estimate. Send it only to the customer it is for.

We delete it as soon as your app collects the answer. A quote nobody ever answers is deleted automatically after 30 days. An answered quote waits for your app to collect the answer, and is deleted anyway if it is still uncollected after 120 days. Nothing else is kept.

Your device holds a random key so it can collect its own answers. It is not tied to you, your phone's identifiers, or any account, and we do not use it to profile anyone.

Our server keeps ordinary web request logs for security and troubleshooting. We do not use advertising identifiers and we share nothing with data brokers or advertisers.

Cloud backup, if you turn it on

Cloud backup keeps a copy of your records on our server so a lost, broken or stolen phone does not take your business with it. It is off until you turn it on.

We cannot read it. The copy is encrypted on your phone before it is sent, with a key that comes from your recovery code — a code we are never told and never store. What reaches our server is a block of ciphertext, its size, and the time it arrived. We cannot open it, we cannot hand its contents to anyone else, and neither can anyone who takes our disks.

That protection is absolute in both directions: if you lose your recovery code, the backup cannot be recovered by us or by anyone. Write it down and keep it somewhere other than the phone.

Your phone uploads a fresh copy as your work changes, and the copy it replaces is kept behind it so that a bad upload cannot cost you everything. Turning cloud backup off in Settings deletes both from our server.

Speaking instead of typing

Some boxes have a microphone button, so you can say a price or a line of work instead of typing it. It listens only when you tap it. The listening is done by your phone's own speech recognition (on Android, Google's speech service), under Google's terms; BIZBILL receives only the words it hears, puts them in the box for you to check, and never receives or keeps the recording.

Subscriptions

If you subscribe, Google Play handles the payment and holds your billing details; we never see your card. To confirm a subscription is genuine, your phone sends our server the purchase token Google Play gave it, and we ask Google about it. We use the token only for that check and do not store it. Google tells us whether the subscription is active, when it renews and whether it is in a free trial, and nothing about who you are.

Anonymous usage counts

So we can tell whether BIZBILL is working for people, the app sends running totals of a few things it is used for: how many times it is opened, and how many estimates, invoices and payments are created, sent, accepted or declined. Counts only. No names, customers, addresses, phone numbers, prices, job details or times of day are sent.

Each report carries a random number made on your phone, the type of phone (Android, iPhone or web) and the version of the app. The number is tied to no account, advertising identifier or person, and we do not use it to profile anyone. It lets us count how many phones are active without counting one phone many times.

It is on by default and you can turn it off in Settings → Anonymous usage counts. Turning it off stops anything more being sent and deletes that number from your phone. Because the counts cannot be traced to you, we cannot look up or delete the ones already sent; they are only totals.

Children

BIZBILL is a tool for running a contracting business. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Your choices

Not sending quote links means nothing ever leaves the device. A quote already sent is deleted from our server when your app collects the answer, and also when you delete the estimate, the job or the customer it was for — your app asks us to remove the copy as soon as it next has a signal, so deleting a customer on the phone takes their quote links with it. You can still ask us directly if you would rather. Turning cloud backup off in Settings deletes the copy in the cloud. To delete everything on the device, uninstall the app — take a backup first if you want to keep it.

Ask us to delete your data, or ask a question about it — the form goes straight to us and we work through them in order.

You can also write to infoprodigy@aol.com.

When you write to us

A deletion request or a question filed on this site is kept as a record until it has been dealt with, and removed after 400 days. It holds what you sent us — your name, the address you asked us to reply to, and your message. Please do not send us your recovery code; anything that looks like one is removed before your message is stored.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's Play Store listing.
